KEEPING horses free of infections can be a challenge. Viruses and bacteria and the illnesses they cause horses and humans affect the global equine industry every year and continue to be critical for the livelihood of those involved in the industry: from private barns and boarding facilities, to equine hospitals and clinics, vet practices, show grounds, and sales companies.

The Equine Herpes Virus EHV-1 is of particular concern since it is a highly contagious airborne virus with fatal consequences for the horses.
