IT is all systems go in the west as Ballinrobe gets set to race on Monday, July 24th and Tuesday 25th, when the features include a family funday and the Cliona Hagan Race Dance. Monday is an all-flat card sponsored by Tote Ireland, with the feature race of the evening, the Tote Exacta Handicap worth €22,000, going to post just after 5pm.
Monday’s meeting is also a family day in conjunction with the Ballinrobe Festival. There will be an exciting line up of free activities for children to enjoy, including carnival games, magic shows, the Horse Racing Juniors Tent, a children’s playground, a comedy horse photo opportunity, face-painting, stilt walkers and cartoon characters. It promises to be a great day out for all the family. This exciting meeting offers a seven-race card, with gates open just after 3pm, and the first race is off two hours later.
Tuesday evening’s National Hunt card features the BoyleSports Handicap Hurdle with a prize fund of €15,000, and again the first race goes to post just after 5pm. The Cliona Hagan Race Dance makes a welcome return once, and it commences after racing, once again being staged in conjunction with the Ballinrobe Festival. The team at Ballinrobe is delighted to see Cliona return again this year, and the evening provides great value entertainment, with racing and the race dance admission available for only €15!
Welcoming
John Flannelly, manager of Ballinrobe Racecourse, said this week: “We look forward to welcoming everyone to our two-day July meeting. It is holiday time for a lot of people, and there is always a great atmosphere. We welcome families on Monday evening, when there will be lots to keep everyone entertained. We look forward to having Cliona Hagan back at Ballinrobe Racecourse, following a very entertaining evening of singing and dancing last year.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our valued sponsors and wish all the team here at Ballinrobe well with the events which will be running from today, July 22nd until next Sunday.”
Ballinrobe Racecourse hosts a number of events as part of the Ballinrobe Festival next weekend. The Queen of The Lakes competition will be the finale to the Festival on Sunday evening, July 30th, again at the racecourse.
