THE Ashford Farm CSI**** Bolesworth International Show, taking place on June 18th-21st is to feature a special auction of 12 performance-bred show jumping yearlings.

The eight colts and four fillies, offered by established names as Ashford Farm, Stal Hendrix, the Billy Stud and Harthill Stud, are all sired by commercial stallions such as Diamant De Semilly, Ramiro B and Cheers Cassini and are all related to the successful international horses on the dam side.

The official preview parade will take place on June 19th at 1pm, when the yearlings will be seen in loose action and jumping. The auction itself will start at 9.15pm under the Bolesworth floodlights, with auctioneer Andrew Nolan of Goffs at the rostrum.

Telephone bidders pre-registered to telephone bid and the auction will be live streamed from the homepagewww.bolesworthinternational.com on the Friday evening.

Valegro bracelet

CHARLOTTE Dujardin and Carl Hester donated a gold and diamond bracelet containing a lock of hair from their dressage superstar Valegro’s hair for auction in aid of The CatWalk Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Trust.

The one of a kind bracelet was bought for a staggering $16,500 by Seanne Williams, with all proceeds going to the trust which supports research into finding a cure for spinal cord injury.

Control of Horses

MINISTER for Agriculture Simon Coveney has stated that a review of the Control of Horses Act 1996, which was commenced following the 2014 Animal Welfare Conference, is at an advanced stage. A range of interested organisations have been consulted but if others wish to make submissions, they should be submitted to the Animal Health & Welfare Division of the Department of Agriculture, Food & the Marine by the end of June.
