Frankel
Following on from an exceptional 2021 season, we have seen Frankel further strengthen his reputation as a world-class sire with nine individual Gr.1 winners to date in 2022, more than any other sire in the world. In the past two years he has sired 12 Gr.1 winners of which five were Classic winners, and 29 Group winners in total. His progeny have continually broken new boundaries both on the track and in the sales ring including the winners of the Irish Derby, French Oaks, Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and Dewhurst Stakes in 2022. He is the sire of the four highest-priced yearlings at Tattersalls Book 1 headlined by the world’s highest-priced yearling sold in 2022 at 2.8m gns. His new fee reflects his standing as one of the world’s elite stallions.
Kingman
Kingman enhanced his position as one of Europe’s leading sires in 2022 by reaching 50 stakes winners faster than any other stallion in history, other than his own stable mate Frankel. This year he has sired 14 individual Group winners including the unbeaten Gr.1 Stallion 2023 Fillies’ Mile winner Commissioning and the dual Gr.1- winning Kinross, whilst the success of his two-year-olds such as Noble Style, Nostrum and Epictetus show strong Classic aspirations in 2023. The adjustment to his fee acknowledges the intense competition at this level in the marketplace and the need to be positioned competitively.
Oasis Dream
Oasis Dream enters his 20th season with the most-rounded CV of any active stallion at stud. As Europe’s leading sire of Group 1 speed, he has sired over 220 stakes horses including the winners of 30 Gr.1 races. His Champion two-year-old of 2021, Native Trail added the Irish 2000 Guineas to his victories following a close second in the English equivalent. Oasis Dream’s record as a broodmare sire stands at over 150 blacktype performers with 45 of his daughters having produced Group winners. He continues to represent excellent value at £20,000 SLF.
Bated Breath
Bated Breath continues to be the best value sire in Britain by blacktype performers over
the last three years amongst stallions standing for less than £25,000. Group-winning two-year-old Juliet Sierra was one of nine blacktype performers for her sire in 2022 with a target of the 1000 Guineas in early May. His 2022 yearlings and foals are a product of his strongest books of mares to date and this
was reflected in sales’ results where the headline act was a stunning filly out of Always A Dream (Oasis Dream) that realised 600,000gns to Godolphin at Tattersalls Book 1. Another six sold into six figures producing an average of £65,043 (more than four times their covering fee). He retains his commercial fee of £15,000 SLF.
Expert Eye
The brilliant two-year-old and Breeders’ Cup Mile winner Expert eye saw his first crop two-year-olds take to the track with 21 individual winners to date, with an impressive 64% of his runners having won or been placed with four rated 90+ by Timeform. We look forward to them progressing as three-year-olds, as their sire did. His yearlings also proved popular with purchasers from Europe and USA, following victories by his progeny on both continents with his highest-priced yearlings realising €145,000, 120,000gns, 90,000gns, €80,000 etc. He stands in 2023 for £7,500 SLF.
