PERSIAN Force will stand alongside his sire Mehmas at Tally-Ho Stud in Co Westmeath next year.

The two-year-old colt ran eight times this year, winning the opening two-year-old race of the turf season at Doncaster in March.

Carrying the Amo Racing colours, Persian Force finished second in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and then won the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket.

The Richard Hannon-trained youngster finished second to Little Big Bear in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes and second to Blackbeard in the Group 1 Prix Morny.

Persian Force again chased home Blackbeard in the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket before ending his campaign with a good effort when fourth in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, just run out of the places in the final strides.

Last Sunday Amo Racing boss Kia Joorabachian announced that the horse would be retired to stud but no farm was mentioned. On Thursday evening Tally-Ho Stud was revealed as the colt’s new home.

“We are delighted to be standing Persian Force alongside his sire Mehmas at Tally-Ho Stud next season,” a statement on the Tally-Ho Stud website said.

“We know the horse well, having sold him for €225,000 as a Goffs Orby yearling, and have watched his career with great interest.”

His stud fee has not been published to date.
