POSSIBLY one of the finest stud farms to arrive on the market in many years, the incredible Dollanstown Stud in Kilcock, Co Meath, will no doubt attract a book of interest from niche buyers with an asking price of €9.25 million.
Located in the heart of stud farm heaven, it was officially placed on the market by Savills in recent weeks. The 360-acre farm boasts a seven-bedroom main residence, which will take your breath away, as well as numerous other accommodations, 71 stables, an indoor and a number of outdoor arenas, an event track and a gallop.
Everything about Dollanstown is well-maintained and kept to the highest standard, not least the equestrian facilities. The 71 stables are spread over five yards, the most striking is the traditional courtyard at the rear of the house. Rectangular in shape, the courtyard has retained much of its original charm and contains just four stables.
The largest of the stable yards is Newtown yard, which contains 18 boxes and is located beyond Newtown Gate Lodge, a small detached lodge cottage. Also in that area is a large all-weather arena.
The main floodlit indoor arena comprises 13-bays of steel frame construction and is situated within the main yard, to the rear of the courtyard. That yard has 14 boxes, a feed room, tackroom, wash room and rug room.
Adding to all that, there are the remains of a top-class event course, last used in 2000, around the estate. The farm was host to one of the top events in the country durning the 1990s and it hosted among other things trials for the Olympic Games and European Championships.
There is also a derby course, used until two years ago as a Young Event Horse qualifier for the Dublin Horse Show.
The land itself is in immaculate condition with circa 120 acres located in a block, and an 80-acre outfarm about 1km away.
The main residence is the most amazing sight. Recently refurbished, the period home consists of two large reception rooms, a light-filled kitchen with beautiful views of the surrounding gardens, an entertainment wing and beautiful bedrooms.
The numbers of houses on this property is astonishing, and the four bedroom manager’s house is another charming build. Situated behind the main yard and Dollanstown House, it includes wood burning stoves and a lovely conservatory which opens onto the garden. There is also a three-bedroom farmhouse, three gate lodges, a courtyard cottage and an apartment.
Located just 23km from the M50 Dublin bypass, the property could attract foreign customers who are searching for a charming farm in Ireland with easy access and in the heart of the Irish countryside.
The holding is being offered for sale by private treaty through handling agents James Butler and Pat O’Hagan of Savills.
