PETER Vaughan's Moanmore Stables sold a three-year-old gelding by No Risk At All to Donnchadh Doyle of Monbeg Stables for £125,000 at Tuesday's session of the Goffs UK Spring Store Sale.
The top-priced lot hails from the family of Grade 1 winners Stormy Ireland, Stormy River and Silverwave. No Risk At All is the sire of Epatante, Allaho and Allegorie De Vassy.
Earlier in the day a pair of Walk In The Park geldings held top billing. A gelding from Norman Williamson's Oak Tree Farm, from the family of Grade 1 winners Cooldine and Blow By Blow, sold to Highflyer Bloodstock for £115,000.
Park Farm’s gelding by Walk In The Park is out of an own-sister to the Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Lord Windermere and he was knocked down to Monbeg Stables for £100,000.
Monbeg ended the two-day sale as the leading purchaser, spending £529,000 on a total of 14 horses.
Peter Nolan sold a Doctor Dino half-sister to the Grade 1 winner Quel Destin for £105,000 to agent Tom Malone and trainer Paul Nicholls.
Goffs UK managing director Tim Kent commented: "A record top price and a record equalling number of six-figure prices are the obvious headline stories of the last two days but the moment we will all remember for years to come is the outstanding £210,000 achieved for Goldford Stud’s Blue Bresil filly during yesterday’s session.
"This was a new British record for a store, and it was a wonderful result for the Aston family given the sad passing of Richard just a few weeks ago. They have enjoyed incredible success at this sale over the years and they have topped the sale on 11 occasions, so it was a fitting tribute to Richard that they broke the record once again in Doncaster.
"Away from the top of the market, trade has been a little more selective but vendors have been realistic with their expectations which has helped to contribute to a very respectable clearance rate of 81%."
The two-day Horses In Training and Point-to-Point Sale starts on Wednesday morning at 10am.
