THERE will be strong Irish representation at the four-day Arqana December Sale which starts in Deauville next Saturday, December 5th.

Foals, fillies and mares are mixed through each session of this flat catalogue, which has 841 lots. Almost 25% of the broodmares and fillies offered have blacktype and/or have already produced a blacktype winner. There are 53 half-sisters to Group 1 winners in the sale.

One of the star attractions is Donjah (Lot 182), believed to be the only Group 1 winning filly in training who will go through the ring at a European breeding stock sale this year. Trained by Henk Grewe, the daughter of Teofilo won the Preis von Europa this year.
