THERE is a substantial catalogue for this year’s August Sale at Fairyhouse and all 662 entries are National Hunt stores. The auction will require two days and Tattersalls Ireland Ltd will be selling on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 9th and 10th.
Talented jumpers such as Moon Racer, Thistlecrack, Beef Or Salmon, Bright New Dawn, Tranquil Sea, Ballyholland, Oscars Well, Tricky Trickster and Morning Assembly have been bought at the August Sale in recent years, mostly for less than €12,500 each, and prices are usually lower than at the Derby Sale in June.
Many of the leading Irish National Hunt sires are strongly represented in the catalogue, including Beneficial, Flemensfirth, Getaway, Gold Well, Milan, Oscar, Presenting, Robin Des Champs, Stowaway and Yeats. All lots bought at the August Sale will be eligible for the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse next Easter.
