RECENT Grade 1 winner Champ Kiely was picked up for a song at the Tattersalls Ireland February National Hunt Sale and, looking through the catalogue for Tuesday's edition, it’s easy to imagine a few of the newly-turned yearlings on offer will make the grade too.
The catalogue features half-brothers and sisters to several graded and listed winners including the Walk In The Park half-sister to Grade A handicap chase winner Dunvegan, the Poet’s Word half-brother to Irish Grand National runner-up Frontal Assault and the Soldier Of Fortune half-sister to the talented Capuccimix.
Other blacktype performers whose siblings feature among the catalogue include Grade 1 winner Sporting John, high-class staying chaser Notachance, listed bumper winner Captain Cutter, the prolific Robin De Carlow and Grade 3 chase winner Clondaw Castle.
There are several foals out of blacktype winning mares catalogued including a Blue Bresil filly out of the multiple Grade 1 winner Asian Maze and a colt out Grade 3 winner Oscar Rebel, and a Hillstar colt out of 11-time winner Voler La Vedette.
