RUNNING concurrent with the Tattersalls June Online Sale, ThoroughBid catalogued 29 lots for its online sale. The highlight was the £75,000 paid for the eight-year-old French-bred Itchy Feet, offered from Olly Murphy Racing and remaining with the same trainer.
A Grade 1 winner over fences at Sandown in February 2020, the son of Cima De Triomphe has been very consistent, winning five times and only on four occasions finishing worse than fourth. A listed hurdle race winner and placed in the Grade 1 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, he has also placed a number of times at Grade 1 and 2 level over the larger obstacles.
Itchy Feet was raced by Kate and Andrew Brooks, as was the Paul Nicholls-trained Rouge Vif. Mark Slater paid £40,000 for the eight-year-old Grade 2 hurdle and chase winner by Sageburg who has been placed at Grade 1 level over both types of obstacles.
Winner of her sole start in a bumper at Newtown Abbott, Kiss My Lucky Egg was acquired by David Mullins. The four-year-old daughter of the Eclipse Stakes winner Mukhadram is the third winner for Dayia, a listed bumper winner in England and a listed flat winner in France. She cost Mullins £27,000.
Anthony Honeyball gave £23,000 for Talkingtothemoon, a son of the up-and-coming Pethers Moon, and out of the good racemare Blue Buttons who was rated 137.
Trained by Chris Barber and owned by him in partnership with Yorton Stud, Talkingtothemoon was a good second over three miles on his point-to-point debut, and improved from that to win by seven lengths second time out in a two and a half mile maiden at Upcott Cross.
J.D. Moore spent £18,000 on the Limerick hurdle winner Kalkas, trained by Henry de Bromhead.
