Cracking first crop colt by Idaho

THIS cracking colt from the first crop of Idaho (Galileo) is a half-brother to three winners, including the eight-time scorer and stakes-placed Red Kimi (Denon). Their dam Happy Flight (Titus Livius) won four times and comes from the family of the champion and Group 1 sire Priolo (Sovereign Dancer). The colt was bred by John Butler.

Idaho is a full-brother to Highland Reel and stands at The Beeches Stud for a fee of €4,000. He won four times and earned almost £1.2 million in a four-season career, his best wins coming in the Group 2 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes at York. He finished third to Harzand in the Derby at Epsom and failed by just half a length to deny that star a classic double at the Curragh over three weeks later. He was the odds-on favourite for the Group 1 St Leger at Doncaster that September and was going well when he stumbled and unseated his rider three furlongs from home.

Proving to be very popular with breeders, Idaho covered 225 mares in his first season at stud.
