Schwartz has a real blacktype prospect

THE hamlet or locality of Limiti di Greccio rises 388 metres above sea level, and has a population of about 750.

It is in the region of Lazio in Italy, and it was founded, according to tradition, as a Greek colony by those who had fled or were exiled from their homeland as a result of war.

It is a name now set to be even better known for racing exploits. Running for leading international owner Martin Schwartz, the two-year-old filly Limiti De Graccio finally realised the potential she displayed on her first two starts when winning her maiden in style at Leopardstown on Thursday. She looks to be stakes class – and likely group class.

Bred by Leaf Stud, Limiti Di Greccio is the fifth juvenile winner this season for Ballyhane Stud’s Elzaam (Redoute’s Choice), and his tally of two-year-old winners will top 60 shortly. He is the sire of Group 1 winner Champers Elysees, Group 3 winner Waitingfortheday and a trio of other stakes winners.

In total he has 14 stakes performers, and if you race an Elzaam you have a 50% chance of winning.

Limiti Del Fauno is the fourth winner for her unraced Galileo (Sadler’s Wells) dam Grotta Del Fauno. The other trio all have won at least three times. Expect the Paddy Twomey-trained Limiti Di Greccio to top them all.
