ONE of the best sprinters in France in recent years, the very handsome bay Inns Of Court will be standing his first season as a stallion at Tally-Ho Stud in Co Westmeath this spring at the very attractive fee of €7,500.

Trained for Godolphin by Andre Fabre, Inns Of Court was a winner in each of his four racing seasons and scored in four group events over distances from five to seven furlongs.

Successful at Chantilly on his only outing as a two-year-old, Inns Of Court won three times over seven furlongs the next season, including the Group 3 Prix de la Porte Maillot at Deauville and the Group 3 Prix du Palais Royal at Maisons-Laffitte, as well as running Al Wukair to a short head in the Group 1 Prix Jacques Le Marois over a mile at Deauville in August, with the subsequent Group 1 Dubai World Cup hero Thunder Snow in third place.

In the World Rankings he was rated equal fifth behind Churchill in his category on 118, and was 2lbs higher than Blue Point.

Just as good as a four-year-old, Inns Of Court won the Group 2 Prix de Ris-Orangis over six furlongs at Maisons-Laffitte by two lengths and was beaten only a short head in the Group 1 Prix de la Foret at ParisLongchamp on Arc day with Gustav Klimt only fourth of the 15 runners. He was a close second in two other ParisLongchamp sprints that season.

Retaining his form as a five-year-old, he ran only three times but easily won the Group 2 Prix du Gros-Chene at Chantilly and a listed race at Maisons-Laffitte and was second in his other start, taking his earnings to just short of £500,000.

Inns Of Court has to be rated one of the best sons of champion sprinter Invincible Spirit, who now has an amazing 126 blacktype winners to his credit.

This is the male line of Green Desert, which is going so strongly these days, but Inns Of Court has also an impressive female side to his pedigree as his dam is by the American star Seeking The Gold and is a half-sister to Fierement, winner of the Group 1 Emperor’s Cup in Japan. Their dam is Lune D’Or, a champion filly in Italy where she won the Group 1 Premio Lydia Tesio, in addition to a pair of Group 2 victories in France.
