A VERY successful sire in France with a French Derby winner to his credit, Rajsaman has now moved to Ireland, where he is standing in 2020 at Longford House Stud in Co Tipperary at the highly attractive fee of €4,500.
Rajsaman had his first runners in France in 2016 and he is already sire of winners of over 270 races and nearly £6,000,000 on the flat, as well as several winners over jumps who have already earned some £360,000. His outstanding son is Brametot, who won six of his 10 starts and was the champion three-year-old in France in 2017 when he scored in the Group 1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains (French 2000 Guineas) and the Group 1 Prix du Jockey-Club (French Derby), defeating Waldgeist. Brametot ended his career with a fifth place in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe behind Enable, defeating the Irish hopes Idaho,Winter and Capri, and he is now a stallion at Gestut Ebbesloh in Germany.
Another good son of Rajsaman is Olympico, who won the Grade 3 Fort Marcy Stakes at Belmont Park in the USA, while Trouble Of Course won a Group 3 race in Norway and Malkoboy won two listed races in France. At least four others of his offspring have been group or listed placed.
A very smart two-year-old, Rajsaman won two races in France at that age, including the Listed Criterium de Lyon. Improving at three, he defeated Siyouni when he won the Group 3 Prix de Fontainebleau at Longchamp first time out in April 2010, then added the Group 3 Prix Perth at Saint-Cloud in the autumn.
Rajsaman was again one of the best milers in France as a four-year-old when he defeated Byword by a length in the Group 2 Prix du Muguet at Saint-Cloud in May, then went on to hold off Rio De La Plata in the Group 2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein at Longchamp’s Arc meeting. In between, he was fourth to Frankel in the Group 1 Sussex Stakes at Goodwood and third to Excelebration in the Group 1 Prix du Moulin.
Rajsaman is another grey son of Linamix are greys, alomg with the likes of Martaline, Sagamix (Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe) and Slickly (Grand Prix de Paris). Linamix was twice champion sire in France.
Rose Quartz, the dam of Rajsaman, won in Ireland and was a daughter of the Epsom Derby hero Lammtarra.
