THIS week’s debut bumper winner Fourknocks is the latest supplementary entry for next Tuesday’s Goffs UK September Horses In Training Sale.
The catalogue features 233 horses-in-training and they include 141 winners, 31 flat horses rated 75 or above, and 32 jumpers rated 115 or more.
A four-year-old by Captain Rio and a half-brother to the graded-placed Lindenhurst, Fourknocks made a winning debut at Downpatrick on Monday, scoring by two and a half lengths from a well-backed rival. The winner will be offered as Lot 116A.
Another bumper winner added to the catalogue is Rainy Day Dylan. This five-year-old won by over three lengths at Cork on August 1st, for trainer Shane Donohoe, and on his only subsequent start his saddle slipped and he was pulled-up.
From the same yard comes Billy Le Fou, a five-year-old son of Le Fou who placed second on his most recent bumper start at Killarney last month.
Vercingetorix was a talented young hurdler for Gordon Elliott two seasons ago and, having lost his way, regained the winning thread on the flat at Chepstow last month. He is consigned to Doncaster by trainer David Evans.
This week’s Salisbury Group 3 winner Madam Dancealot has been withdrawn from the catalogue.
Another eye-catching entry is Middleham Park Racing’s three-year-old Atlantic Sun, who placed second to Zonderland in the Listed Heron Stakes earlier this season. The colt, trained by Richard Hannon, finished third on his most recent start since the catalogue went to print and now has a BHA rating of 103.
The four-year-old Pointillism won at Goodwood this week and goes to the sales with a BHA rating of 70, and there is a chance to buy a winning daughter of King’s Theatre when recent Perth bumper winner Wizard’s Sliabh is offered.
