RATHBARRY and Glenview Studs have announced the acquisition of the proven Grade 1 stallion Blue Bresil from Yorton Farm where he has stood since his relocation from France in 2016.
A multiple winner, Blue Bresil was placed behind Group 1 winner Full Of Gold in the Prix Noailles and was runner-up to subsequent Grade 1 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Long Run in the Prix Jacques d’Indy Hurdle at Auteuil.
A son of Smadoun, Blue Bresil has already sired 10 individual National Hunt blacktype winners and numerous blacktype performers in Ireland, Britain and France, including Grade 1 Ryanair December Hurdle winner Mick Jazz, Grade 2 hurdle and chase winner Le Prezien, and the four-time Grade 3 winner over hurdles and fences, Saint Goustan Blue.
Progeny of Blue Bresil, an imposing standing 16.3 hands, are proving very popular at the sales and this year realised up to €200,000 at Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale, purchased by Paul Nicholls and Tom Malone.
His son Big Bresil sold for £170,000 at the Goffs UK Aintree Sale.
Blue Bresil will stand alongside Malinas, Shirocco, Sholokhov and Youmzain at Glenview Stud for the 2020 breeding season.
