New stallions in Galway

MONITOR Closely and Fuisse are now standing at Roveagh Lodge Stud in Kilcolgan, Co Galway.

A Group 2 winner, classic-placed and a successful sire already, Monitor Closely is standing at just €2,000. The son of Oasis Dream won over a mile as a two-year-old for trainer Peter Chapple-Hyam. His biggest win came in the Great Voltigeur at York, which he won by almost five lengths. Runner-up Mastery went on to win the St Leger, with Monitor Closely third, despite not staying the distance.

From small books of mares in France, Monitor Closely’s best horse to-date is Eclair De Beaufeu, winner of six races including a €100,000 handicap chase at the Dublin Racing Festival.

Also standing at Roveagh Lodge is Fuisse, a Group 1 winning miler in France who has had plenty of winners on the flat, over hurdles and over fences. Further information on both sires is available from Stephen Harris (086-7846229) and Oskar Cherek (087-2761702).
