Bluegrass winner
WE had a large entry for last week’s competition offering a prize of a tonne of Bluegrass Horse Feed. The winner is Jimmy Murphy from Newcastle, Co Dublin.
Correction
LAST week’s edition (page A7) carried a news item reporting the death of Olive Yates from Co Carlow. Contrary to our report, the deceased is not related to the broadcaster and former Minister Ivan Yates. We apologise to both Yates families in Carlow and Wexford for any distress caused.
Annan on mend
AMATEUR rider Claire Annan is in Cork University Hospital [CUH] this weekend recovering from serious injuries she sustained in a fall at Ballingarry point-to-point last weekend. After speaking with her husband Liam O’Brien yesterday, the IHRB’s chief medical officer Dr Adrian McGoldrick reported: “Claire is doing very well. She has stable fractures of her C6 and C7 (vertebrae near the neck) and she had surgery on an unstable fracture of her T12 (lower back) on Thursday. She is making a good recovery. The family wish to thank the medical team at Ballingarry, CUH and everyone in racing for their support.”
