Willie Mullins once again stole the show at Ballinrobe on Tuesday evening as he continued his fine run of form by saddling two impressive winners at the Co Mayo venue.

Most noteworthy was the stylish success off Fire In Soul who routed his rivals in the Mulholland Bookmakers Rated Hurdle at odds of 5-2.

Jockey Bryan Cooper was happy to sit in behind the leaders in the early part of the 2m1f contest but always looked happy with what he saw in front of him and eased his mount to challenge with four flights to jump.

His mount, who came into this bidding to bounce back from a disappointing showing in Grade Two company last time, quickly mastered his rivals and having taken over at the second last, scampered clear in the closing stages to record a 21 length triumph.

Cooper said afterwards: "I liked him the day he won his maiden and I don't know what happened him the last day in Fairyhouse.

"He could make a nice summer chaser in time and he probably wants a bit further."

The first leg of the double came courtesy of Livelovelaugh who took the opening Tipperary Water Maiden Hurdle with the minimum of fuss.

The son of Beneficial was making his first start since running well at the 2015 Punchestown Festival and had few problems in making a winning debut over obstacles, rewarding those who backed him into a 8-13 favouritism with a comfortable eight length victory.

Winning jockey Paul Townend said afterwards: "It was very straightforward and it's nice to see him back on track.

"He jumped great and he was a bit fresh early but that was only to be expected coming off a break.

"I'd imagine he might keep going now and he's a nice horse."
