CLASSIC winner Jet Setting bounced back to form to destroy her rivals in the Coolmore Stud Home Of Champions Concorde Stakes at Tipperary. Dropped to a Grade 3 after defeats in the Coronation Stakes and Matron Stakes, Adrian Keatley's Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine helped force the pace with Creggs Pipes.
The 7-4 favourite set sail for home at the top of the straight and extended her advantage in the final couple of furlongs, ultimately passing the post six and a half lengths ahead of Joailliere.
Keatley said: "That was important today as there was a bit of pressure on. She just loves the ground - there's just no getting away from it and also loves that trip, which is perfect for her.
"We'll sit down with the owners at Newmarket (Sales) next week and make a plan, but wherever it is bottomless she'll turn up between now and the end of the year. There's a couple of Group 3s in France and a couple of listed races, but if it turned up bottomless on Champions Day at Ascot, she could run in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
"There's no decision made on next year but they're talking about going to stud with her. However I was saying to Shane (Foley) if there was going to be good prizes next spring in ground like that, that I'd prefer to have her racing.
"We've gone up in numbers (since Jet Setting's Guineas win) and have bought a good few yearlings in the last few weeks. We'll be sorting out the good from the bad over the winter and trying to find new owners too."
GRADE 2 FOR IVAN GROZNY
Ivan Grozny made a successful return to jumping with a sparkling performance to land the Grade 2 Istabraq Hurdle at Tipperary. Willie Mullins' charge won well on the level at the Galway Festival and was a leading fancy for the Ebor at York, only to be a late defector due to a setback.
Making his first competitive appearance since, the 2-5 favourite was allowed an uncontested lead and established a clear advantage over his rivals from an early stage. Bentelimar tried to make a race of it but could never really get close enough to challenge and Ivan Grozny coasted home four and three-quarter lengths to the good.
Jockey Ruby Walsh said: "He just ran away with me and kept going. He was a bit fresher today and hasn't run in a while. The ground gets softer and it gets harder as you're trying to go slower but he jumped super and had enough in the tank to keep going."
Regarding possible winter plans, he added "I can't see him going to the field anyway!"
PENHILL'S GRADE 3
Penhill maintained his progression over obstacles with a clear-cut triumph in the Joe Mac Novice Hurdle.
Smart on the level for Luca Cumani, the five-year-old made a successful jumping debut for Willie Mullins in the spring and then banished a Killarney no-show, when he burst a blood vessel, to the memory by striking at the Galway and Listowel Festivals.
With just two rivals to beat in this Grade 3 following the falls of Bel Sas and Bitview Colin, the even-money favourite took the lead off Balzac Turgot on the run to two out and although slow over the last, was kept up to his work by Ruby Walsh to win by four and a half lengths.
Walsh said: "He is a fair horse but doesn't jump the EasyFix hurdles quite as well as he does the timber hurdles. He was quite deliberate over the first two but got better as he went on. It's as soft as he (Mullins) has ran him on but the same as Listowel, he's gone and won on it so you can't really stop can you.
"Other than Killarney, he has done everything right. He never did it before or since and we've no idea why he did it. He keeps improving, though, and I imagine he'll keep going until he tells us otherwise."
WESTERNER LADY
Alpha Des Obeaux was disappointing as Westerner Lady completed a clean sweep of Tipperary's graded NH races for Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh in the Grade 3 Like A Butterfly Novice Chase.
Last year's World Hurdle runner-up Alpha Des Obeaux was odds-on for his fencing debut but while he jumped satisfactorily, Bryan Cooper was hard at work down the back straight and after looking like he might be pulled up early in the straight, he plugged on still finish last of the five runners.
Westerner Lady was unbeaten in her previous two outings over the larger obstacles and that experience stood her in good stead as she handed out a 15-length beating to Deans Road at odds of 2-1.
Walsh, who also won on Ivan Grozny and Penhill, said: "She jumps super but she had experience and fitness on her side. It was the plan to use that fitness and experience, and she jumped super. She is also versatile trip-wise, in fairness to her."
O'BRIEN SUCCESS
Aidan O'Brien was in France to saddle a remarkable one-two-three in the Arc, and his son Joseph also tasted success, albeit at a lower level, in the Woodlands Hotel Adare Handicap Hurdle. Cradle Mountain (7-1) isn't the most straightforward of characters but gradually warmed to his task and finished well after jumping the last in third to beat Ballyadam Brook by a length.
The winning trainer said: "He knows plenty about the game and never travels or jumps but has plenty of ability. It's nice to get him to win again and he'll go for something similar again."
Regarding his father's Arc exploits, O'Brien said: "It was unbelievable and you couldn't imagine it could happen. It's a funny track and the three of them were drawn all over the place and for it to happen for the three of them was just unbelievable."
Of the winner Found, he said: "She has been second in nine Group 1s and when things fall right for her she is unbelievable - Ryan (Moore) gave her a great ride. She was a bit unlucky last year but it was an Arc and every year there seems to be some unlucky ones. That's the reason Found was kept in training and that's the race she was kept for all along."
MAIDEN WIN
Three Jacks (13-2) wore down long-time leader Feathery to prevail in the Athassel House Stud EBF Maiden.
Martin Hassett's colt made the frame on his second start at the Curragh and stepped forward again to deny the game Feathery by a head.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained Galilean was sent off the 4-6 favourite but after racing in snatches towards the rear, got going late to finish a never-nearer third.
Hassett said: "The biggest surprise was the price and if he was running under the Ballydoyle banner, he'd have been money-on. If he was Aidan O'Brien's, you'd be saying where is he in the Derby picture and his run at the Curragh has turned out to be a serious maiden.
"We haven't discussed if he is for sale yet as he has been a fun horse but that's him finished for the year and we'll have to supplement him for some of those bigger races next year."
Hassett only narrowly failed to follow up when Master Speaker found just 2-1 favourite Downforce too strong in the Thetote.com Handicap.
Dr Mikey (6-1) was given an enterprising ride by Declan Queally in the Kenyon Street Traders (C & G) (Pro/Am) Flat Race and his positivity was rewarded with an eight-and-a-half-length defeat of Dos Picas.
