A TEAM of 24 beautifully bred fillies and mares belonging to twice leading owner Sir Robert Ogden are to be sold at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale.

Heading the consignment is dual Group 1 winner Amazing Maria, by Mastercraftsman, who is in foal to Oasis Dream.

The fillies and mares will be offered on behalf of the owner by Barton Stud and will be sold on the opening two days of the sale, November 29th and 30th.

The consignment will comprise 17 broodmares and seven fillies in training. It includes the listed-winning and Royal Ascot Group 2 placed racemare Agincourt. By Declaration Of War, she is out of a half sister to Grade 1 winner Desert Blanc.

Anothe notable lot is the smart three-time winning three-year-old Turandot, who is a half-sister to Amazing Maria, as well as Amazing Maria’s winning four-year-old Golden Horn half-sister Golden Hind, two-time winning three-year-old Imperial Butterfly, by Oasis Dream out of a half-sister to Amazing Maria, and two-year-old winner Renaissance, from the first crop of Caravaggio.

All but three of the 17 broodmares are believed in foal. They include the five-year-old listed-winning Mastercraftsman mare Blue Gardenia, carrying a February cover to proven Group 1 sire Showcasing.

The seven-year-old listed-placed Galileo mare Isabella is in-foal to Mastercraftsman, as is the nine-year-old Group 3 and multiple listed-placed Galileo mare Pandora. Amazing Maria’s dam Messias Da Silva, already the dam of five winners, has a yearling colt and colt foal, both by Galileo, to run for her.

Matt Coleman of Stroud Coleman Bloodstock will be overseeing the consignment and the catalogue will appear online on October 22nd.
