CAPPELLA Sansevero and Aljamaaheer are two new stallions to stand in Ireland next season.
A son of Showcasing, Cappella Sansevero will be based at Bridge House Stud in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.
As a two-year-old he won his maiden in April by five lengths before going on to win the Listed Marble Hill Stakes at the Curragh.
After being bought for €1.3 million on the eve of Royal Ascot, he finished a close second in the Coventry Stakes behind The Wow Signal, he was placed again in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes before winning the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes.
Trainer Ger Lyons described the horse as “a gorgeous straight forward colt that was unlucky not to win a Coventry. A very good two old but unfortunately he got jarred up at three.
“I was very much looking forward to training him next season as he’s grown into a beautiful strong colt.”
His fee has been set at €4,500.
Shadwell Estates have announced that Aljamaaheer, a son of Dubawi, will stand at Tara Stud in Co Meath at a fee of €4,000.
The sprinter/miler was trained in Newmarket by Roger Varian for Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum and his victories included the Group 2 Summer Mile and the Listed King Charles II Stakes. He was placed in three Group 1 races and had a Timeform rating of 123.
Derek Iceton of Tara Stud said: “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to stand Aljamaaheer.
“He first caught my eye with his impressive winning debut at two years and I have been following his career since then.
“His race record and pedigree reflect his soundness and it’s a major bonus to be standing a speed son of Dubawi.”
Aljamaaheer will arrive at Tara after the Newmarket December Sales where he will stand alongside the Group 2 July Stakes winner Alhebayeb.
