WALK In The Park has joined the Coolmore National Hunt sires’ division and will stand at Grange Stud in Fermoy, Co Cork.
The son of Montjeu and Irish 1000 Guineas winner Classic Park who was second to Motivator in the Epsom Derby stood initially in France and has made a hugely impressive start to his stud career.
From small crops he has sired last year’s Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner Douvan and Min, the hot favourite for this year’s race.
“Douvan and Min are two of the most exciting young horses around so we’re delighted to have secured him,” said Grange Stud manager Albert Sherwood.
“As well as getting great racehorses he gets sales horses too with one of his foals topping Goffs December at €70,000.”
Walk In The Park’s stud fee is listed as ‘private’. At Grange, he stands alongside Fame And Glory, Getaway, Leading Light and Milan.
