Describe the Cheltenham Festival in three words.
No place like it. That’s four, sorry!
Do you have any pre-race superstitions?
A little bit, if I saddle a horse in a certain area or stand somewhere while the horse wins, I’d always try to go back to the same spot.
Have you got a go-to celebration after a winner?
Probably just a relieved sigh.
Are there any characters you’re looking forward to seeing over there?
The people you meet over there are unbelievable, but there’s no one in particular. I just want to see my horses and get on with it.
Who would you least like to be stuck next to on the plane over?
That’s a no-brainer, definitely Aidan O’Ryan. Anyone that’s sat beside him on a plane knows why!
When you have a real stable star, do you find it hard not to give them special treatment?
At home we try to treat them all the same, but it’s hard to say that you don’t spend a bit more time looking over the stable door at Cheltenham at the ones that you fancy.
