Sean Collins

CONGRATULATIONS are in order for owner Sean Collins for his win with Hello Sweetie at Clonmel on Thursday.

Trainer and father Pat Collins explained that they’ve had Hello Sweetie for a couple of years now. Ger Boyle owned her originally for a little while and then decided to move her on and Sean became her new owner.

“I think it’s great for Sean because he has Duchenne muscular dystrophy. It mainly happens to young boys, which limits their movements and it worsens quickly over time. It’s a great lift for him, because he goes everywhere he can with her. He’s 19 coming 20 thankfully.”

“It’s not just me and him, it’s a whole family affair. Sean’s sister Amy helps out at home with everything. I’d especially like to thank James Murphy. He rides out and schools for us as well and works so hard. “He’s done such fantastic job and we’re extremely thankful for him.

“Future plans include heading to Clonmel to do a novice chase there. We’re not sure what exactly what we want to do with her for now, but we’ll make more of a decision after that,” said Pat

“In the long term, we want to breed from her. We thought she was in foal for a while but she wasn’t. But we will definitely be breeding from her in time.”
