LOUISE Lynn is an interior designer originally from Roscommon and living in Dublin. A regular racegoer, she is more often seen in her finery on a raceday socialising with friends and family at the races than in breeches and a skull cap.
Louise is regularly photographed in glossy magazines and social columns attending racing and show jumping events alongside her sister, famous Irish milliner Martha Lynn.
Louise studied property economics in but switched to a course in furniture design. She loved the course so much that she went on to study interior and furniture design at DIT for four years. Her creativity didn’t stop there, Louise also studied production design for film and television and has established herself as a leading interior designer.
Louise explained her connection to horses: “I am really excited to be participating in this year’s series. For as long as I can remember I have loved horses and I have hunted, showed, competed in amateur eventing and side saddle.”
She has been riding out in Denis Cullen’s yard for the past two years and participated in this year’s series at the Punchestown Festival. Commenting on the Corinthian Challenge Charity Race Series Louise said; “Over the years, I have become aware of the Irish Injured Jockeys with my involvement in racing, and it will be a huge honour to contribute to this great cause, as well as challenging myself.”
Unfortunately, Louise missed out on riding in the first leg of the challenge due to a back injury sustained while riding in preparation for the series. Although she was on the mend she didn’t want to undo all her rehabilitation work for the first race.
She attended the Curragh on the day to support her fellow challengers and is very much looking forward to the next race in the series, set to take place at Navan on Sunday 23rd of September.
