1:20 Connolly’s RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Maiden Hurdle 2m 4f 100y
Dromahane point winner Frontier General can take the opener. The Mahler gelding looked to have done the job nicely between the flags, accounting another nice prospect in Dream In The Park by a length and a half, with a further 10 lengths back to the third. He’s a half-brother to four winners and looks a nice recruit on his debut for Henry De Bromhead.
Chicago Time went down by a nose on his last two outings at Listowel and Ballinrobe and is sure to be in the mix again. The slight step back up in trip should suit the Shirocco gelding who has the support of Sean O’Keefe again.
SELECTION: FRONTIER GENERAL

Gordon Elliot runs two and Perfect Attitude is the pick of them. He lived up to his name at Clonmel on his most recent start, doing the job nicely to score on his hurdles debut. He’s a full brother to three-mile hurdle winner Dragon Bones so the step up in trip shouldn’t be an issue. The ground conditions will suit and he’s a big player.
Kingston Retreat bolted up at big odds in a maiden hurdle at Downpatrick and is interesting. James Barcoe’s mare showed mild promise in bumpers before proving much too strong for her rivals at the Ulster venue. Hurdles seem to bring out the best in her and she should go well again.
SELECTION: PERFECT ATTITUDE

Although having to overcome a small absence, Mullaghmore Wave is the one to beat. John McConnell’s mare is bidding for a hat-trick after backing up her Ballinrobe romp at Downpatrick most recently. The 14lbs rise on that occasion didn’t seem to bother her and she can cope with a further 7lbs. Brian Hayes retains the ride.
The switch back to hurdles suited Not So Simple at Tipperary and he can continue his nice run of form over the smaller obstacles. His form over hurdles reads 3213 this season and he is well capable of maintaining that level of form off a mark of 101.
SELECTION: MULLAGHMORE WAVE

A wide-open affair can go the way of No Way Pedro. He was two and half lengths behind Fluerys Fort at Clonmel when getting 7lbs and receives 11lbs from the same rival on this occasion. That run looked to represent a return to form and a reproduction of that effort might be good enough in this field, with plenty of these out of form.
Lighthouse Lady is interesting on her handicap debut. She ran a blinder at Killarney when only beaten a length and three-quarters by an odds-on shot. Her opening mark of 95 looks workable and she has the assistance of Jordan Gainford.
SELECTION: NO WAY PEDRO

It’s hard to get away from Bleu Berry. The 2018 Coral Cup winner has looked sharp since taking to fences and won nicely at Listowel the last day. He seemed to have plenty in hand at the line and the return to this trip should be right up his alley. This is surely a stepping stone for bigger targets ahead.
The runner-up spot is a match between Coach Carter and Busselton with preference for the latter. Joseph O’Brien’s four-year-old gets 10lbs from his rivals and has enjoyed his introduction to chasing with a win and three places from four runs.
SELECTION: BLEU BERRY
Next best: Busselton

Last year’s winner Abbey Magic is back for another crack at this €40,000 contest but she may struggle to give 3lbs to The West’s Awake. Edward O’Grady’s 10-year-old returned to form at Killarney when a good second behind Batcio, four lengths in front of Abbey Magic back in fourth. He struggled to make a mark in the Galway Plate but has been in good form all summer bar that, winning well at Kilbeggan earlier. The ground should pose no issue and he can go close again.
Grange Walk is interesting. He was an easy winner of a handicap chase at Sligo and won his beginners’ chase in good style at Limerick this season. He was coming with a run at Galway before crashing out and he made a dreadful mistake early at Listowel the last day before being pulled up. When he settles, he looks a nice type and could come in here under the radar off 124.
SELECTION: THE WEST’S AWAKE

Tipperary bumper winner Copper Nation looks a smart type and she can back up that success. She hit the line very well that day and she is a Dromahane point winner, so should have no issues upped to today’s trip. She gets a four-year-old’s allowance and can progress again.
Emmet Mullins has called in Patrick Mullins for the ride on Lahinch Tree to try to return him to form. He was a runaway winner of a Kilbeggan bumper in June but hasn’t shone since on three starts. The return to bumper company under the top amateur may just be the kick he needs.
SELECTION: COPPER NATION
Next best: Lahinch Tree
