Tip top Togo gets record number 13
THE amazing Togoville keeps breaking his own record at Dundalk Stadium and recorded his 13th success on the polytrack when landing the seven-furlong handicap at the Co Louth venue last Friday evening.
Trained in Co Monaghan by Anthony McCann for Co Armagh’s Patrick McCann, the 11-year-old Verglas gelding won in the hands of another Co Monaghan native, Conor McGovern. The near white grey passed the post four and a quarter lengths in front of the second-placed St George’s Head who is seven years his junior.
Also from Co Armagh, Gary Devlin had his colours carried to victory in the earlier six-furlong handicap on the Lethal Force filly Betrayed who he owns in partnership with Hazel McGuinness, wife of inform north Co Dublin trainer Ado.
The colours of David Maxwell Racing visited the winner’s enclosure at Haydock on Saturday following the win of the Paul Nicholls-trained Bob And Co in the two-mile, six-furlong hunters’ chase. With the ban on amateur riders in Britain, the 11/8 favourite was ridden by Sean Bowen.
The French-bred 10-year-old, who had undergone wind surgery in the interim, was last seen when wining under Maxwell at Fontwell last February.
