Tattersalls Ireland Yearling Sale

THE Tattersalls Ireland Yearling September Sale catalogue is now out out and all horses catalogued are eligible to run in the €300,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes 2019. The sale takes place on September 25-26th, with Part II on September 27th. There are 560 yearlings listed over the first two days and a further 285 in Part II.

Jog for Jockeys

THIS year’s Jog for Jockeys returns to the Curragh Racecourse and will be a special eighth race on the card at the Saturday, September 1st meeting. All monies raised will be donated to Irish Injured Jockeys. This 5km route allows participants to walk, jog or run on the historic Curragh plains including running up the home straight of the track.

Entry costs €20 for those who register online at www.jogforjockeys.ie before Friday August 24th.

Hike in World Cup prize money

THE 2019 Dubai World Cup meeting will be the world’s richest day of racing as the total prize money will increase from $30 million to $35 million. The feature Group 1 Dubai World Cup increases to US$12 million in value and will have the richest first prize fund in the world at $7.2 million.

The Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen receives a $500,000 boost to $2.5 million and becomes the richest dirt sprint in the world, while the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint will see its purse double to $2 million.
