A HAPPY post on Facebook by racing journalist Niall Cronin about his wedding last weekend: “I won’t lie... I never believed Saturday could be as good as it would be. From the church all the way through to the 5am singsong it was just an absolutely brilliant day with great people around us.’’
Niall married Leona Skelly, who works in IT recruitment for IT Alliance, in Park West, in Naas and then all went on to the great party at Rathsallagh.
They have known each other for eight years and Leona was blissfully free from the racing world. So much so that on an early date at the point-to-point awards dance, the late Cecil Ross, who was on their table was identified by Leona as the trainer of Frankel!
Grand National and Irish Grand National winning jockeys, Slippers Madden, Katie Walsh and Paddy Flood were among the guests at the wedding as were Jamie Codd, Andrew Leigh, Hayley Moore of the Moore dynasty and Martin Kelly broadcaster with At The Races and our own recently married Ryan McElligott.
Good luck to the happy couple as they head to South Africa for their honeymoon.
