PROUD Mum, Tipperary-based Cathy Hamilton, who holds a restricted licence and is a contributor to the Irish Horse World section of the paper, has sent us in this terrific picture of her multi-talented daughter Katy Squires (28).
Katy is currently working for Colin Tizzard, schooling and riding out, and about two weeks ago, the yard held an owners’ open day.
As well as polishing every corner and tying up the bunting, Colin and his staff wanted a way of showing off the different colours of the owners.
So Katy made the cake, layered and iced it to show-stopping results.
“When she left school she went up to Yorkshire to work with the Reveleys in 2008-9. “And then came back down to work with David Pipe, riding out for him and also rode a pointer/hunter chaser owned and trained by me, Sir Bathwick,” said Cathy.
“On my horse, Keyneema, she was the leading lady rider in the hands and heels series of races in 2010-11 in the UK.
“She’s now with Colin and is coming over here to work with me and ride in point-to-points on my homebred Carrignagapple who won a winners of two at Ballindenisk last year.”
And then of course there’s always that great baking talent for Kary to fall back on.
