IF you are in London on the way to Cheltenham why not drop into the the Osborne Studio Gallery, 2 Motcomb Street Belgravia where there is a wonderful exhibtion honouring their former, and much missed, honorary chairman Sir Peter O’Sullevan with a collection of his paintings, sculpture and ephemera. The exhibtion runs from March 9th - April 1st.
O’Sullevan was an ardent collector of art, with 20th century racing paintings his particular passion but he had an eclectic taste for both landscapes and figurative work. Some items are for sale with the Peter O’Sullevan Charitable Trust being a beneficiary. Check out www.osg.uk.com.
WILLIE Mullins has a new bunch of enthusiastic owners joining the yard as Highclere Thoroughbred Racing have aquired Caro Des Flos for the Caro Syndicate.
The four-year-old gelding will be Highclere’s first horse in training with the 10 times Irish champion trainer and their first National Hunt horse in Ireland.
Caro Des Flos is a French-bred son of Tiger Groom, sire of the Grade 1 novice chaser Ar Mad. Willie Mullins trains the Gigginstown House Stud owned half-brother Balko Des Flos, who has won three from four starts to date.
Engagement
GOOD news from the Dreaper family as Thomas, who is assistant trainer to his father Jim Dreaper, has popped the question to his girlfriend and is now an engaged man. His fiancée is Claire Moran from Tipperary who is a solicitor. Apparently they are both exceptional camera dodgers but there won’t be any hiding on the happy day!
