THOROUGHBRED Tales, the social media initiative geared to the promotion of racing to a broader audience, is going into the world of competitions launching #FoalPhotos2021, in association with Weatherbys.
The competition is aimed at breeders sharing photos of the latest foal crop on social media using #FoalPhotos2021, for a chance to win one of three prizes of a complete set of Weatherbys annual publications.
Sally Ann Grassick of Thoroughbred Tales explained: “This is a difficult time of year for so many people, especially with the recent restrictions. Racing fans have not been allowed to attend their favourite sport for many months and that doesn’t look like changing anytime soon.
“Each year the new crop of foals brings with it the possibility of future champions and I think we all need that hope even more this year. Our idea is to unite those photos under one hashtag to make it easier for racing fans to follow and I must thank Weatherbys for providing such a generous prize for the most popular photos.”
Nick Craven of Weatherbys commented: “We are delighted to support Thoroughbred Tales through their #FoalPhotos2021 initiative. A new foaling season brings with it hope, excitement and enjoyment in equal measure and, let’s face it, we could all do those feelings right now!
“I’m sure the Weatherbys publications will prove popular prizes and a selection of the foal photos will be published as a colour section in the Return of Mares later this year. ”
To enter, breeders must be following Thoroughbred Tales and Weatherbys Twitter accounts.
To feature they should then tag their photos on Twitter with #FoalPhotos2021.
It is recommended that entrants also provide some information on the foal’s breeding in order to increase their chances of being one of the winning photos at the end of the foaling season.
