ARTIST Atalanta Pollock was born in Dublin in 1963 and spent her childhood in Co Meath.

At 18, she went to art school in London, first to City and Guilds and then to St Martin’s School of Art. She established her own studio in London, producing original decorative works alongside her restoration business. Her artisan crafts took her around the world, including teaching in New Orleans and painting sets for the Australian Opera Society in Sydney. In 2004 Atalanta returned to Ireland with her family and has been a full-time painter.

TRUSTED FRIENDS

Recently she has had multiple commissions to paint oil portraits of people’s most trusted friends – their dogs, cats and horses and is producing elegant small paintings, mostly 10 x 8 inches. She has a talent for achieving an uncanny likeness, while retaining plenty of character.
