COME down to Powerscourt Golf Club on Monday, September 9th for this year’s Irish Horse Welfare Trust Golf Classic. Having previously attracted the likes of Johnny Murtagh and with the beautiful Wicklow Mountains as a backdrop, teams of four are welcome for a highly entertaining day out. This exceptional animal charity homes and cares for 80 equines, around two thirds of which are thoroughbred, and one third cobs and ponies.

Any individuals or smaller groups may be accommodated, and all can look forward to the evening BBQ and prize-giving. A short auction has Robert Hall of RTÉ Racing as MC and some stunning prizes include a Longines watch, a Shane Lowry golf club, as well as some racing packages.

Any additions to the auction will be very much appreciated, such as racing packages, hotel breaks, gift vouchers or match tickets.

Join Gunter at Druids Glen

THURSDAY, September 12th is a special day for your diary as it features the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation Golf Classic at the fabulous Druids Glen in Co Wicklow.

The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation is a nationwide charity that offers support, advocacy and an in-home nursing service to help children and their families under the age of five years who have a significant neurodevelopmental delay involving severe learning difficulties.

There are two shotgun starts – at 8am and 1.30pm – and you lucky people attending will also shoulder some terrific goody bags.

Barry Murphy (aka Gunter Après Match) will be joining the party on and off the course and after the golf, evening entertainment includes dinner, raffles and more.
