Sad news about Prince Khalid Abdullah. Many amazing horses for decades. He left a lasting legacy that will be difficult to replicate. This man spent his whole life breeding racehorses and there’s no coincidence that he owned and bred the best horses in the world.

Racing owes a debt of gratitude to him. A mark of the man was when everyone deserted Sir Henry, he sent the best racehorse he ever bred to him. We can only hope Juddmonte Farms continues his great work.

Sad news of the passing of Prince Khalid Abdullah one of the most successful owners and breeders our sport has seen. Always a great supporter of Ireland through race sponsorship, horses in training and his stud farms, our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.

Prince Khalid was the definition of class and sportsmanship. It was one of the greatest honors of my life to be asked to train horses for him...the phone call every trainer has dreamed of getting. He raised the bar to unthinkable heights...always putting the horse first.

So sad to hear that Prince Khalid Abdullah has passed away. Owner breeder of so many champions and one of the most iconic sets of colours ever to grace the turf. The sport of horseracing was so lucky to have him.

Racing in Britain has been through a huge transition over the past 40 years, with the loss of the traditional owner/breeders.

Prince Khalid Abdullah has patronised our sport and bloodstock with dignity, competition and generosity. Thank you for a million memories.

I cannot think of anyone in my lifetime who has given so much to a sport & so much pleasure to so many people over so many years. And we will enjoy his legacy for decades to come.

The [Adam] Wedge comment isn’t news. The guy’s won the biggest race of his career, probably has mild concussion from two horrific falls, and has a microphone thrust in his face!

People literally can’t wait to be offended, what a sad agenda. There are genuine sexist issues. This isn’t. [Reaction to Adam Wedge saying jump racing was a ‘man’s game’]

Niall Davison@NiallDavison80·

A bit of context please. Everyone - literally everyone - knew he didn’t mean it in a sexist way. It is this level of fragility that will ultimately get racing banned. But why waste a good opportunity to steal someone’s joy?

Huge shame (especially in today’s world) that someone who reports verbal, mental, physical/sexual abuse in the weighing room is now labelled a ‘grass.’

In any work environment: industries have to create psychological safety. If someone is worried to speak up, where does that leave us?

How early is too early to start a weekend bender? [Even in times of restrictions - we have to celebrate if you own a horse like Bob Olinger]
