MANY congratulations to trainer/qualified rider Holly McGahan on recording her first Eventing Ireland success at Ballinagore, Co Westmeath last Sunday.
Competing in the EI 90 class for amateurs, Holly finished the day on her dressage score of 42.5 riding Mr Reidi, a tall, four-year-old bay gelding by the Holstein stallion Lougherne Carrick-A-Rede who she bought last December.
“It’s a pity the season’s over as I’m getting a taste for this eventing and my horse went really well!” said the Co Down rider.
“I registered Mr Reidi with Show Jumping Ireland recently and we’ve done a few 1.10m classes at Ravensdale Lodge.
“I’ll probably keep him jumping over the winter.
“I’ve got six horses in at the moment for pointing and aim to send out my first runner of the season, Archview Sunshine, at Maralin next month (Saturday, November 7th).”
