PRIX ALAIN DU BREIL
((HURDLE) (GRADE 1)
RUBY Walsh had a relaxed ride on Footpad in the Grade 1 Alain du Breil to win for Willie Mullins and owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede last Saturday at Auteuil. Fourth for much of the race and a little careless on one occasion, the hot favourite was a close third at the last before pulling clear on the flat.
King’s Socks finished second and then came Beyond Henry and Chic Name. He made much of the running for owner/trainer Richard Hobson who took home €23,400.
Mullins said: “We were delighted with him and will be back again in the autumn for the Prix Ferdinand Dufaure.”
Footpad’s two recent wins at Auteuil now add up to €182,250. They have also earned €27,337 for Robert Collet’s two daughters who bred the son of Creachadoir.
