Alison Corr
What is your earliest point-to-point memory?
My first ride actually. I didn’t grow up with a racing background. I live on a farm and wasn’t too interested in racing back then.
How did you get
involved with racing?
We had ponies when I was younger and I just loved it.
I went to RACE and I did the course and it just went from there.
Who do you admire most in racing?
Jamie Codd and Derek O’Connor. Those boys are just brilliant.
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
You’re kind of putting me on the spot here! I’ve no idea honestly.
If you weren’t in the racing industry, what would you be doing instead, or what would your life be like?
Well I work in the bank actually. It’s my full time job and then I ride out.
What’s your worst habit?
I bite my nails.
How would you
describe yourself in three words?
Determined. Does it have to be three? Positive? I don’t know.
If you could be someone else for the day, who would it be?
Oh interesting. I would be the President of America. I wouldn’t like to be too famous, like Kim Kardashian famous. I’d like to be Jamie Codd when he rides and wins all the races in one day.
Oh and JP McManus, just because he’s fabulous. He has great horses too.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done in your life?
Me and my cousin used to ride the ponies bareback and would go out jumping in the fields.
What’s your weirdest pet peeve?
My sister when she talks: “Oh Aileen, do you want to grab lunch?” and then she clicks at me.
I’m used to it now. She doesn’t do it as much now thankfully!
If you could learn one skill what would it be?
I’d love to be able to sing! I’m always singing, people are always telling me to be quiet.
Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
Making millions like the rest of us.
What’s your biggest regret in life?
I don’t really regret anything, everyone make mistakes, but just move forward and you learn from that.
