Alison Corr
What is your earliest point-to-point memory?
Probably going to a local point-to-points when I was seven or eight. My whole family and I used to go all the time.
How did you get involved with horses?
My grandfather and my uncles ride and my older sister Ciara has always had ponies around too.
I didn’t really start to ride until I was 12 or 13. I was a swimmer before riding. Swimming took up all of my time and then I really got into riding which took over then.
How do you relax outside of horses?
I go shopping. I’m a shopaholic. I go in for a few bits into Pennys and come out with three big bags full!
How would you describe yourself in three words?
I’m clumsy for one! Dedicated and punctual. That’ll make Niall laugh. He’s my boyfriend, he’s always giving out I’m late.
What is your worst habit?
It would have to be I eat a lot of sweets.
What is your weirdest pet peeve?
When people walk slowly in front of me when I’m walking fast.
Who is your biggest supporter?
Probably my niece Ruby. She thinks I’m great! She’s two and she comes to most of my races.
What advice would you give to your 10-year-old self?
Don’t worry so much what people think.
If you could learn one skill, what would it be?
Probably to play an instrument. I’m not very musical and I wish I was.
What terrifies you?
Rats. We were in Bangkok in the summer and I saw a few and got the first plane out of there! It was horrible.
What has been the highlight of this season for you?
Ah I suppose it was the other day in Fairyhouse!
