KENTUCKY Downs hosts an all-turf meeting every September featuring large purses and huge fields.

Dermot Weld’s Bandua who ran well when third in the Grade 1 Secretariat Stakes at Arlington is among the also eligibles for the $600,000 Calumet Farm Kentucky Turf Cup Stakes. Adam Beschizza is booked for the ride.

As a three-year-old in 2016, Oscar Nominated was among the better turf/synthetic horses in his age group. Most recently, the son of Kitten’s Joy won a Grade 3 at Gulfstream in January and is facing an easier field in the Kentucky Turf Cup and should appreciate the drop from Grade 1 to Grade 3 company. His trainer, Mike Maker, has won two editions of this race.

Multiplier trained by Peter Miller is another likely to be involved along with Donegal Racing’s Arklow, whose fourth to Yoshida in a Churchill Downs Grade 1 looks good.

Wesley Ward’s Royal Ascot winners Undrafted and Con Te Partiro are engaged in the Grade 3 sprints.
