Arabian Verse ran a solid race when second on her debut here a few weeks ago and with improvement likely, she is tipped to go a place better. The winner Spy Ring wasn’t disgraced in a stakes contest at Naas and with decent ground, Michael Halford’s filly can get off the mark at the second time of asking. Mayleaf Shine hails from a yard in terrific form and she ran a fine race behind the Ascot bound Pedestal over this trip at Tipperary.
She should be able to win a race of this nature as should the once-raced Sevenfold, who shaped with plenty of promise on her only start at Navan. Market interest in Giselle’s Charm should be noted.
Selection: ARABIAN VERSE

Jenniechild was done no favours by the draw when third here on her handicap debut a few weeks ago and with that run under her belt she is tipped to win what looks a competitive contest. A winner of a Curragh maiden last year, she went up 4lbs for her seasonal reappearance. Today’s smallish field should negate what appears to be a modest draw and she is preferred to Peticoatgovernment, who won a valuable handicap on her penultimate start at Naas over six.
The ground may have been too lively for her the last day at Gowran Park and she looks a contender, as does handicap debutant Golden Pearl. More Than Munny will be more at home on this better ground and he has to enter calculations. Barron’s Lad came home well to win a Navan maiden on his second start and is another to consider.
Selection: JENNIECHILD
Next best: Peticoatgovernment
3.20 CORAL.IE MIDSUMMER SPRINT STAKES (LISTED RACE) 5F
Spirit Quartz hasn’t won for nearly three years, but he appears to have been found a winning opportunity. He ran a solid race at Newmarket in the Palace House Stakes two starts back, behind the smart Profitable, and while he disappointed the last day at Deauville, is tipped to get back to winning ways here at the expense of Ardhoomey.
The latter has developed into a very good servant and has clearly improved again this season. He comes here on the back of an impressive success at this venue a few weeks ago where he beat Abstraction. The pair meet on identical terms again today and one assumes Ardhoomey can confirm that form. If the ground remains fast, Shrill may fare best of the remainder.
Selection: SPIRIT QUARTZ
Next best: Ardhoomey

How High The Moon may come out best in what looks a competitive renewal of this valuable contest. The selection never really got competitive on her seasonal reappearance in the Blue Wind Stakes at Naas, but Seamus Heffernan has been declared to ride her over Pretty Perfect who was second in that same race. The latter was an impressive all the way winner of a stakes race three starts back at Navan, but she has since disappointed in the Irish 1000 Guineas.
She might be allowed to do her own thing up front here and the step-back in trip looks sure to suit. Shamreen looks a progressive filly who has won her last two starts, but this represents a step-up in class for the daughter of Dubawi.
She is another that may appreciate today’s trip. Twitch has already picked up some valuable blacktype and, on ratings, she is far from out of it. The four-year-old likes to be handy, will see out the trip well and she looks a contender.
Siamsaiocht was fourth over today’s trip last week at Leopardstown and she is a consistent filly, but she may have to settle for a minor role today.
Selection: HOW HIGH THE MOON
Next best: Pretty Perfect
4.30 CORAL.IE CORK DERBY (PREMIER HANDICAP) 1M 4F
Alveena was only caught in the last stride in what was a decent handicap at the Curragh the last day and while she went up 3lbs for that effort, she still looks on a decent mark and can record her third career victory. There are plenty of dangers and Ger Lyons is double-handed with Intisari and Synopsis.
Riding arrangement would suggest that Intisari is the better of the two, but Synopsis in an improving horse who won well at Roscommon and went up only 4lbs for that success. Henry’s Girl was a runaway winner on soft ground at Tipperary and on the basis of that effort she would appear to have the beating of Highly Toxic.
Ballybacka Queen could be a given a chance. The filly can be forgiven her last two runs and she won this race last year off today’s mark of 98; the more rain that falls the better.
Selection: ALVEENA
Next best: Intisari

Locus Standi is no more than a hopeful choice. The selection has been running well of late and he posted a solid effort in what looked a stronger race when fourth the last day at Leopardstown.
He has a reasonable draw here and granted luck in running, he is preferred to Easy Boy, who looks capable of winning a race of this nature and is another that is well drawn. Busy Bush and Lightening Stricks, first and second last Sunday in a similar race at Listowel, should get into the shake-up. Specific Gravity has to overcome a poor draw, but he is becoming a well-handicapped horse and finished in front of Locus Standi when third the last day at Leopardstown.
Selection: LOCUS STANDI
Next best: Easy Boy

Texas Radio looks open to more improvement after his all the way success at Gowran Park. He takes on his elders for the time today and the runner-up did his bit for the form when he finished second to a subsequent winner at Fairyhouse. Wayne Lordan’s mount is well drawn and is preferred to No Way Jack who has been holding his form well and, despite a poor draw, he looks sure to be involved at the finish. Others to consider include Ask Katie, Longfield Lad and Fairy Flute.
Selection: TEXAS RADIO
Next best: No Way Jack

Crafted Jewel has been running well without winning and is tipped to get her head in front. She came home well last week at Leopardstown to finish second over a mile and that was her first run for eight months so she will probably improve for that outing.
Admodum looked a shade inexperienced when runner-up to a newcomer at Roscommon the last day and he looks the main danger to the selection. His stable companion Pension Madness was third of five runners over a mile and a half at Tipperary and he will find easier opportunities.
The newcomer Boca Raton is one to keep an eye on in the betting. Others for the shortlist include Handcrafted.
Selection: CRAFTED JEWEL
