2.00 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF BOLD LAD SPRINT HANDICAP 6F

Tithonus is put forward to complete what would be a unique hat-trick in winning this race, the Rockingham and the Scurry Handicap in the same season. A very versatile sort in terms of ground and trip, he is 5lbs higher than when last successful but he showed that he remains a force in major sprint handicaps with a respectable fifth at York last month where he found the 5f a little on the sharp side. Celebration is a major threat. He has run well behind Tithonus on both their meetings this season and is 4lbs better off with that one for a 1l beating in the Scurry Handicap in July. Both horses are drawn lower than ideal.

Selection: TITHONUS

2.35 MOYGLARE “JEWELS” BLANDFORD STAKES (GROUP 2) 1M 2F

This trip is an unknown for Sea Of Grace but her efforts last season included a Group 3 win at this track and suggested that she would get further than a mile. Her form this season includes a second in the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (French 1000 Guineas) and she was an easy winner of a Haydock listed race last time.

She is preferred to Rain Goddess who was fifth behind her in France before going to finish second in the Pretty Polly and the Irish Oaks in addition to winning a 1m1f Group 3 at this track last month. The dual Group 1-winning Seventh Heaven has by far the strongest form in the field but she might need this comeback run.

3.05 DERRINSTOWN STUD FLYING FIVE STAKES (GROUP 2) 5F

Caspian Prince’s defeat of Marsha in a Group 2 over this course and distance two months ago reads very well in light of the latter’s subsequent Nunthorpe Stakes triumph. It is worth taking the chance that this incredibly quick sprinter will tolerate the slow ground.

He is chosen ahead of Caravaggio who did tremendously well to account for Harry Angel in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. He has since met with two defeats and his last effort in France was somewhat disappointing but he still warrants the utmost respect. Cotai Glory’s third in the Nunthorpe puts him into contention.

Selection: CASPIAN PRINCE

5.25 TATTERSALLS IRELAND SUPER AUCTION SALE STAKES 6F

This could fall to Goodthingstaketime who has yet to win but has shown a good level of form on her three outings. Her second to Fleet Review in a 6f maiden at this track and her runner-up finish behind Treasuring in a 5f Group 3 last time are strong pieces of form. The ground will be fine for her and she has a good draw.

She is chosen ahead of Snazzy Jazzy who has looked decent in winning both his start in Britain. The experienced Verhoyen is another to keep in mind as is the unexposed The Broghie Man whose last run makes for good reading.

5.55 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF NORTHFIELDS HANDICAP 1M 2F

Jet Streaming can make her light weight and her rider’s 7lb claim count. She has won two handicaps this season and should now progress further as she steps up in trip. The form of her latest win in Galway has been working out and, in all, she lines up with an attractive profile.

Mawaany is a course and distance winner who has been running well in premier handicaps over longer trips. His latest second to Whiskey Sour at Galway was an excellent effort and he deserves to land a good prize.
