STAKES (GROUP 1) 7F

Brave Anna: Talented filly who coped well with slow ground to win a 6f maiden in May and took a marked step forward to land Royal Ascot’s Albany Stakes next time. Returned from a break to finish sixth in the Debutante Stakes last time but could easily do far better this time.

Dawn Of A New Era: Intriguing newcomer as an own-sister to the brilliant juvenile and top-class three-year-old Dawn Approach. This represents a daunting start to her career though, and she is best watched on this occasion.

Intricately: Promising type who has held her own in good company following her debut win at Gowran in June. Her third to Promise To Be True in the Silver Flash was a good run and she ran at least as well when finishing in the frame in the Debutante Stakes last month. She lines up with solid place claims.

Hydrangea: Progressive filly who has made up into a very smart sort following her second to Eziyra at Galway. Won a conditions race over this course and distance in good style last month and turned in a fine effort when going down by just a head against Rhododendron in last month’s Debutante Stakes. Expect another strong showing here.

Promise To Be True: Looked a potentially high-class filly when she made a winning debut at Tipperary in June and confirmed that initial impression with a smooth triumph in the Silver Flash Stakes several weeks later. She surely has more to offer and expect her to take beating.

Rehana: The form of her course and distance maiden win over Rhododendron and Sea Of Grace makes for excellent reading and she ran with credit to take fourth in the Debutante Stakes next time. She could well progress further but will need to if she is to reverse Debutante form with the three that finished in front of her.

Rhododendron: Followed her promising debut effort with a smooth maiden win at Goodwood and took her form to another level with a gritty head success over Hydrangea in the Debutante. After just three runs she can do better still and she can be relied on to challenge strongly.

VERDICT

Promise To Be True has looked a potentially top-drawer filly on both her starts to date and she is taken to remain unbeaten at the expense of stablemates Rhododendron and Hydrangea.
