12.00 RACING ON NEW YEARS DAY 3-Y-O MAIDEN HURDLE 2M
The one that makes the most appeal is the Gordon Elliott-trained Dakota Moirette. The son of Voix Du Nord got no further than the first hurdle on his Irish debut, but had a confidence-boosting completion when a modest fourth in Grade 3 company at this track earlier this month.
This is represents a big drop in class and he could well be capable of capitalising. His most interesting rival is perhaps his stable mate Pahaska, as the daughter of Saddex showed plenty of promise in her two starts in France for her previous handler.
Selection: DAKOTA MOIRETTE
Next best: Pahaska

A chance is taken on the Adrian Joyce-trained Rock On Rosie. The seven-year-old was progressing nicely when last seen over hurdles and has the benefit of race fitness following two recent runs on the flat.
It wouldn’t surprise to see her go close on her return to hurdling. The least exposed runner in the field in the Dot Love-trained Bridge Native, with the five-year-old having made a winning hurdling debut at Thurles last month.
While she lacks hurdling experience, she could well improve enough to compete off top weight on her handicap hurdle debut.
Selection: ROCK ON ROSIE

1.00 GREAT PACKAGES AT FAIRYHOUSE MAIDEN HURDLE 2M 4F
This has the look of a decent maiden hurdle and the Gordon Elliott-trained Minella Till Dawn sets the standard.
The son of Shantou won a point-to-point at The Pigeons by a short-head in March and made a promising racecourse debut when second to Moulin A Vent in a maiden hurdle at Punchestown last month. That form was boosted since and with improvement likely to be forthcoming, he will be tough to beat.
His most intriguing rival looks to be the Willie Mullins-trained Al Boum Photo, with the French import having fallen when still travelling well at the third-last flight on his debut at Moulins back in September 2015.
Selection: MINELLA TILL DAWN
Next best: Al Boum Photo

A competitive handicap hurdle and the Liz Doyle-trained Emma Beag is given the nod to prevail. The five-year-old got off the mark over hurdles in a maiden at Sligo in August and bettered that form when a close second in a handicap hurdle over this course and distance last time. She is entitled to come on from that and looks to be the one to beat. Another with solid prospects is the Sandra Hughes-trained Side Saddle. The six-year-old has been acquitting herself well in conditions hurdles of late and looks fairly treated for her handicap hurdle debut.
Selection: EMMA BEAG

2.10 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF BEGINNERS CHASE 2M
This is all about the chasing debut of the Willie Mullins-trained Yorkhill. The six-year-old was one of the leading novice hurdlers in training last season, most notably winning the Neptune Investment Management Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival and the equivalent contest at the Aintree Grand National meeting.
Long considered a chaser in the making, he is a very exciting prospect over the larger obstacles and hopes will be high that he can be amongst the leading novice chasers in training at the conclusion of this season.
Of those with chasing experience, the Denis Cullen-trained A Great View shaped well on his chasing debut at Navan last month and could potentially improve with that experience under his belt.
Selection: YORKHILL
Next best: A Great View
2.45 MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM FAIRYHOUSE BEGINNERS CHASE 3M
Another high-quality maiden chase and much of the attention is likely to be on the Pat Kelly-trained Mall Dini. The six-year-old shot to prominence when winning the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival last March and stamped himself as a high-class novice chasing prospect when making a promising start over the larger obstacles at Punchestown last month. On that occasion he finished third to Haymount and Coney Island, with the latter having given the form a major boost by winning the Drinmore Novice Chase on his next start.
Mall Dini seems sure to improve over this longer trip and will take plenty of beating. His main rival looks to be the Noel Meade-trained A Genie In Abottle with him having run very well in both his starts over fences and having scope to improve over this longer trip.
Selection: MALL DINI
Next best: A Genie In Abottle

A competitive bumper to close out proceedings and Mag Mullins may have the answer in the shape of Martello Park. She is a half-sister to the high-class performer Martello Tower and made an encouraging debut when second to Fayonagh in a bumper at Naas last month. She is very much entitled to improve from that and is likely to go close. Of the rest, Andy Oliver saddles an interesting contender in Scotch Beg, with the four-year-old having shown promise on her debut at Limerick back in June.
Selection: MARTELLO PARK
