1.20 Sea Moon & Jukebox Jury At Burgage Stud Maiden Hurdle 2m
Kool One ran with plenty of credit when third to Charlus at Naas last month and is entitled to be on the premises once more, if building on that promising showing. Ivan Ryan got a right tune out of the 28/1 shot last time and claims the 7lb off once again. His ability to handle testing ground, and the fact he’s a proven stayer over a mile and six furlongs on the flat, makes him appealing here.
Stamina is an unknown, but hurdles debutant Blue Lemons reached a mark of 99 on the flat with Richard Hannon and that type of ability ought to make him a serious player. He hasn’t been seen since finishing down the field in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot and is now with Willie Mullins. He coped with an ease the ground on the flat, but the concern is that he was a miler previously and he’s by a speed influence sire in Blue Point (only previous hurdles runner in Britain/Ireland was too keen and pulled up). Hudson was the subject of decent support on his stable/hurdles debut, when sixth at Leopardstown over Christmas for Ellmarie Holden. He ran okay to a point, but didn’t finish out strongly and returns with a tongue-tie fitted.

1.55 Red Mills Trial Hurdle (Grade 3) 2m
There was a bit of style about the way Kitzbuhel made a winning Irish debut at Punchestown in December and the promising French recruit can provide Willie Mullins with a record-extending seventh win in this race. We don’t know how good he is yet and boasts a much more progressive profile than many of his rivals.
Paul Townend prefers the five-year-old over 10-year-old stablemate Sir Gerhard, who won a stable staff race on the February Bank Holiday card at Punchestown. He isn’t the force of old, but this type of company is probably where he’ll be comfortable, albeit he didn’t fire on his last hurdles start on New Year’s Eve. Beacon Edge looks well-placed to finish off nicely for a good chunk of the prize money again.
SELECTION: KITZBUHEL
Next best: Sir Gerhard
2.30 Albert Bartlett Triple Crown Series At Punchestown Festival 2025 Qualifier Handicap Hurdle 2m 4f
The handicapper didn’t miss Bridie’s Beau with a 14lb rise for winning well at Punchestown last month. Another bold bid should be on the cards, but it’s interesting to note that Gavin Cromwell has instead opted to use Conor Stone-Walsh’s 5lb claim for Crescent Moon, a recent runner-up at Cork. She’s very much unexposed as a five-year-old and her bumper form with Blue Mosque last season reads quite well now. A 4lb rise for her latest effort might not be enough to stop her from getting off the mark.
There is depth to this handicap, though, and the third reserve, Beggar’s Rock, needs to be taken seriously if getting a run. Find A Fortune, Killaney King and Housemartin come here in good form, while One Big Boum isn’t out of it, if bouncing back from his Naas defeat.
SELECTION: CRESCENT MOON
Next best: Bridie’s Beau
3.05 Red Mills Chase (Grade 2) 2m 4f
Willie Mullins and Paul Townend are already the most successful trainer and rider respectively in Red Mills Chase history and last year’s winner Saint Sam looks poised to extend that dominance for his connections. He was turned over as 8/13 favourite at Punchestown on New Year’s Eve, but the stable did have some disappointments over the festive period and this prolific eight-year-old wasn’t disgraced in defeat behind Ballyadam. He’s a better chaser than hurdler, loves a cut in the ground and this is probably his ideal trip.
Journey With Me might be the one to chase home the selection in the three-runner field, though it’s hard to have major faith in him on the back of his heavy defeat at Windsor last time. Classic Getaway took a step back in the right direction last time at Thurles when second to Appreciate It, but is 5lb wrong at the weights with his stablemate.
SELECTION: SAINT SAM

3.42 QuinnBet Beginners Chase 2m 4f
With the experience of two decent chasing efforts under his girth behind useful rivals, Blizzard Of Oz can make it third time lucky over fences for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend. He bumped into smart stablemates Quai De Bourbon and Chapeau Du Soleil last time on Thyestes Day here and the form of his previous Navan third was boosted by the winner, Lecky Watson, striking in Grade 3 company next time, while the fifth-placed Answer To Kayf bolted up in a handicap chase on his following start.
O’Moore Park from the same stable has fallen at the final obstacle on both of his first two starts over fences, though he was in the process of running a big race on both occasions. If his confidence hasn’t been dented, he won’t be far away. Dancingondaceiling looks a thorough stayer on the evidence of his three-mile handicap hurdle win here last month and it will be interesting to see how the market interprets his chance in a higher grade. What’s Up Darling is building up nice experience, but could be one for a big handicap chase this spring.

4.15 O’Driscolls Irish Whiskey Careys Cottage Cup Handicap Chase 2m 4f
It was a satisfactory return to action after a 400-day break for Prince Zaltar, when second to Nine Graces in the Amateur National at Punchestown and he could be set to continue Philip Rothwell’s positive season here. He’s up 4lb, but remains at the right end of the weights, ought to be suited by the trip and ground and Darragh O’Keeffe is a strong booking off 10st 3lb.
Cleatus Poolaw might find his feet over fences now in a handicap chase, though he needs to build on his beginners’ form. The lack of a recent run for Hands Of Gold and Better Times Ahead is off-putting, as they could be lively otherwise, while Soloman Lane showed up well when third at Fairyhouse last time. Midweek Voices wasn’t winning out of turn when bolting up in a low-key race at Punchestown and an 8lb rise doesn’t seem excessive. What’s more, his rider Cian Quirke can use his 5lb claim now, whereas he couldn’t last time.
SELECTION: PRINCE ZALTAR

4.50 Ronan Lawlor Memorial Irish EBF Mares (Pro/Am)
Bumper 2m 1f
Patrick Mullins clearly got a big kick out of winning this bumper named after his late friend Ronan Lawlor last year and Introversio could be the answer to the 2025 renewal for the same connections. She was sent off the 1/2 favourite for her Punchestown bumper bow 33 days ago, but was safely held in fourth. However, it’s key to note that the veterinary officer reported her to have pulled a muscle on that occasion, so there’s every chance that’s not her true running.
Doing It In Style is of interest on paper for Gavin Cromwell. The Walk In The Park newcomer is out of Willie Mullins’ useful five-time winner Miss Sapphire (rated 124). Champagne Venture’s Punchestown form worked out nicely when the winner, Bambino Fever, hosed up at the Dublin Racing Festival, while point-to-point scorer Miss Penny Copper wasn’t disgraced on her bumper bow at Cork last month. Kenisa Sport, a rules debutante by No Risk At All, joined Gordon Elliott for £85,000 after finishing second between the flags for Colin Bowe in December.
