1.50 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF FILLIES HANDICAP 7F

Sorelle Delle Rose makes a quick reappearance having finished second at Navan last weekend. The Moyglare Stud owned filly had run a race full of promise on her seasonal debut in the Irish Lincoln but just found 5f too sharp last time. A course and distance winner here at Gowran, she can give weight away to her rivals.

Midnitemudcrabs has a fine record at this venue so should be involved despite racing from out of the handicap. Her rider’s claim offsets that burden.

Selection: SORELLE DELLE ROSE

2.20 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF VICTOR MCCALMONT MEMORIAL STAKES (LISTED) 1M1F

Clear Skies was one of the biggest successes of the all-weather series, improving dramatically over the course of the season. She remains relatively unexposed on turf and should have no problems with the ground.

Having found 12f beyond her last time, she will be better suited to this step back in distance.

Jaega was hugely impressive on her racecourse debut at Leopardstown and literally could be anything. She has a host of group race entries to back this up.

Selection: CLEAR SKIES

Next Best: Jaega

2.55 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF FILLIES MAIDEN 1M1F

Simiyna was her stable’s second string when running a fine race on her recent debut at Leopardstown. With that run behind her, and a step-up in trip, she has to be given the vote.

Comeragh Haze also made a pleasing debut at the Foxrock venue last time but has been done no favours by the draw this time. If she is able to negotiate a clear path then she will be involved.

Selection: SIMIYNA

Next Best: Comeragh Haze

3.30 HELMET DAY JUNE 4TH MAIDEN 1M

Jewel Maker ran well in a maiden last season at a time when his stable were under a cloud. On that occasion he opened up 2/1 before drifting right out to 10/1. Clearly he is a well-regarded colt who should be capable of better this season.

He still holds an Irish Guineas entry although he would want to be impressive here to take that up.

Beckwith Place caught the eye on his sole start to date when showing plenty of ability in a maiden at this track. His shrewd handler has kept him for this race and the draw has been much kinder than on his previous visit here.

Selection: JEWEL MAKER

Next Best: Beckwith Place

4.05 GOWRAN PARK GOLF OPEN SINGLES HANDICAP 1M

Playa Blanca was well-supported when finishing third at Cork last time, travelling like the best horse for much of the race. He has every chance of reversing the form with the winner of that contest at these revised weights. Provided the ground doesn’t get any more testing he looks the most likely winner.

Ishigati has done all her racing at Dundalk thus far but as a daughter of Dream Ahead one would expect her to appreciate an ease in the ground. She remains unexposed so has to be respected in this modest company.

Selection: PLAYA BLANCA

Next Best: Ishigati

4.35 KILKENNY COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL JULY 1ST HANDICAP 1M

Annie Irish has a fine record at this track so is put forward as an each-way selection against the likely hot-pot. The mare has only her second start for a new trainer here but showed enough on her return to suggest she retains ability at this level.

Neither trip nor ground are a concern and she has fitness to call upon.

Camile landed a huge gamble at Navan on his most recent start so is certain to be popular with punters once again. He looks the horse to beat but will most likely be priced-up accordingly.

Selection: ANNIE IRISH

Next Best: Camile

5.05 FESTIVAL OF SPEED JULY 15TH RACE 1M4F

Bandua couldn’t have been any more impressive on his racecourse debut when absolutely hacking up in a Cork maiden. His winning margin may have been exaggerated on the ground so he races on similar terrain here. He could just be a very good horse so has to be followed until beaten.

Miraculum holds an Irish Oaks entry so must be pleasing connections at home. She will need to be above average to make a winning debut so is best watched on this occasion.

Selection: BANDUA

Next Best: Miraculum
