2:10 KERRY GROUP 3-Y-O HURDLE 2M

Chief Justice is an intriguing runner in the Cheveley Park silks for Gordon Elliott. Last seen winning a Worcester juvenile hurdle for Richard Fahey, he shoulders a penalty here but he is rated higher than any of these on the level and he has the assistance of Davy Russell in the saddle.

Both Subjudice and Lever Du Soleil have scope to improve on their second hurdles starts but the latter was 13 lengths behind Smiling Eliza at Downpatrick last time and that might be a gap too far despite the swing in the weights.

SELECTION: CHIEF JUSTICE

An easier option Willie Mullins will not be able to find for Wicklow Brave whose closest pursuer ratings-wise is Vengeful, 36lbs his inferior. Indeed both that Gigginstown horse and recent Kilbeggan scorer Cooldine Bog actually have to concede the 2017 Punchestown Champion Hurdler 6lbs, as they have both won over hurdles inside the stated threshold. The nine-year-old, rated 159, could well go close to setting a new odds-on price record tomorrow.

3:15 CHARLEVILLE CHEESE MAIDEN HURDLE 3M

Percy Veer was unlucky to unseat when trying to give chase to subsequent winner Dinons at Killarney last time and he may be able to gain compensation here. That Killarney novice hurdle was a good race and Eric McNamara’s six-year-old was set to finish ahead of the 131-rated Causey Arch, which rates as pretty useful form at this time of the year. He was a useful horse on the flat and won over a mile and six furlongs, so this step up in trip should pose no problem.

Brooks Falls is worth noting on her hurdles debut, after she won her bumper at Sligo and Qui Bono is a proven stayer, having gone extremely close in a Wexford heat over this distance.

3:45 LOW LOW IRISH EBF MARES HANDICAP HURDLE 2M 4F

Mark Cahill’s Theatre Run could be the one in a wide open heat. The seven-year-old mare won well at Cork last time and may be able to defy a 12lb-higher mark. Significantly, she has won on soft ground, so any rain that falls will do her chances no harm, and Barry Geraghty has been booked for the ride.

Both Lockeen Girl, Movingswiftlyalong and Isabel’s Gold may be able to build on recent wins, but Gordon Elliott’s Isle Of Destiny sticks out as one of the least exposed runners here and could progress off a mark of 102.

4:20 CHEESTRINGS MARES NOVICE CHASE 2M 4F

Camelia De Cotte is the choice of Paul Townend among Willie Mullins’s three mares. She got off the mark over fences at the first time of asking and so warrants obvious respect. However, she will probably have to be good to beat an in-form Synopsis, whom Davy Russell rides for Gordon Elliott. The six-year-old mare was last seen finishing third to Magic Of Light in the good mares’ handicap chase at the Punchestown Festival. She handles soft ground and has gone well fresh before.

Miss Sassie will be worth a second look if turning up (engaged at Wexford) and Dawn In The Park did well to win last time out when accounting for the useful Conduct Yourself by eight lengths.

Where else to start but with Kylecrue, going for a four-timer in this race for John Ryan. The 11-year-old isn’t getting any younger but has been trained especially for this race and is 9lbs lower than the mark he won off last season.

Mill Quest has won four times since joining Gordon Elliott and like so many horses who join Cullentra, there is no telling how far more she could improve.

All Hell Let Loose is another worth noting. The Gigginstown horse is up for sale at Doncaster on Wednesday week but he probably produced his best effort over fences on his previous run and if the penny has dropped, he could easily go close in a race like this.

Conrad Hastings ran a respectable race in the Galway Plate, while Product Of Love performed with credit when chasing home Peregine Run on his previous run.

Scaglietti ought to be up to winning this contest on her racecourse debut. Representing Willie and Patrick Mullins, the five-year-old mare is a half-sister to the very useful William Henry and the stable’s 2009 Ebor winner, Sesenta.

My Peggy looks best placed of those who have run, following her run to finish second at Perth.
