1.55 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF MAIDEN 5F

Sioux Nation is put forward to make a winning debut in a race which sees Aidan O’Brien’s juveniles make their first appearances of the season. This colt makes notable appeal on pedigree as a son of Scat Daddy out of a winning Oasis Dream mare, who is a daughter of the high-class sprinter Catch The Blues. Sebastiano Ricci, another newcomer, could be a major threat to the selection. This Lope De Vega colt is out of a Montjeu mare who is a half-sister to several winners. Moltoir (by Vocalised) is respected as a Jim Bolger newcomer, while Natty Dresser comes from a yard whose juveniles can often make an impact in decent company.

Selection: SIOUX NATION

Next best: Sebastiano Ricci

On her debut last autumn, Sorelle Delle Rose showed up nicely when only just losing out to Wayside Flower in a three-way finish over this course and distance. The daughter of Dark Angel looks sure to make her mark in maiden company on that evidence and she is chosen ahead of the regally-bred newcomer Smoulder. The latter is a half-sister to the 2015 1000 Guineas heroine and triple Group 1 scorer Legatissimo and her yard has already made quite a bright start to the season. Camiyra showed up well in a couple of Dundalk maidens in the autumn and she might do best of the remainder.

Selection: SORELLE DELLE ROSE

2.55 RACING AGAIN MAY 1ST HANDICAP 6F

Mizaah shaped much better than the bare result would suggest in a handicap here a fortnight ago. On that occasion he was a well-backed favourite but he could never get involved having found himself at the rear of the field early on. However, he finished out his race in reasonable style to be beaten by just over 4½l into eighth and he could take a significant step forward here. Rapid Applause looked a most unlucky in a Dundalk handicap last month. The latter was beaten just over 3l there but could well have won with any sort of luck in running. Athas An Bhean ran a fine race to chase home Gymkhana over this course and distance last month and she is entitled to be closely involved. Cenotaph is an intirguing runner as this is his first outing since he was hit with a 22lb-rise for winning a Dundalk maiden on his sole outing last season.

Selection: MIZAAH

Next best: Gymkhana

3.30 GLADNESS STAKES (GROUP 3) 7F

This looks a good opportunity for Alice Springs to get her season off to a winning start. This daughter of Galileo will surely be all the better for her first run since last year’s Breeders’ Cup Mile but it is still hard to look past her as she is a triple Group 1 winner who showed consistently top-drawer form throughout last season. Blue De Vega’s best effort last season was his third in the Irish 2000 Guineas and he ended the campaign with a creditable second to Sovereign Debt in the Knockaire Stakes. The Royal Ascot runner-up Diamond Fields returns to domestic action following a spell in America which yielded a couple of Grade 1 placings. She is respected, as is the teak-tough international campaigner Gordon Lord Byron who won a Group 2 at this trip last season and has recent fitness on his side.

Selection: ALICE SPRINGS

4.05 DR VINCENT O’BRIEN CENTENARY ALLEGED STAKES (GROUP 3) 1M 2F

Success Days is certainly good enough to make a successful reappearance and he showed when winning the Royal Whip Stakes last August on yielding to soft ground that he doesn’t need very testing conditions to make his mark at this level. Apart from an unplaced run in a vintage Irish Champion Stakes, this entire looked better than ever last season when he ran a succession of good races in quality company, such as when third to Fascinating Rock and Found in the Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup. US Army Ranger is a formidable rival. He was a tremendous second to Harzand in last year’s Derby at Epsom but wasn’t quite able to build on that through the second half of the season. He remains a colt of major potential.

Selection: SUCCESS DAYS

4.40 PANORAMIC RESTAURANT HANDICAP 1M 2F

She progressed very well last season to notch up four handicap triumphs and there could be more to come from Sister Blandina this year. This four-year-old appeals as one that can do even better in 2017, she does enjoy some in the ground and she is only 3lbs higher than when last successful, all of which makes her quite an appealing proposition. Ezanak is an intriguing rival. He looked a potentially smart middle distance runner when making a winning debut in a Gowran Park maiden over an extended 1m1f just under a year ago. He will surely improve for this comeback outing and is at a disadvantage in terms of experience but a strong challenge from him could still be forthcoming. The Irish Cambridgeshire third Aared is interesting on his comeback but he has to prove conclusively that this trip suits him.

Selection: SISTER BLANDINA

Next best: Ezanak

5.10 IRISH STALLION FARMS EBF MAIDEN 1M 2F

Diodorus could be the one to side with although he may not have as much in hand as ratings would suggest. This Galileo colt was placed in three of his four outings last season and held a rating of 85 before his last run of the campaign which saw him finish a ½l second to Dubai Sand in the Listed 1m1f Eyrefield Stakes. He faces a couple of credible threats, headed by Clongowes. The latter showed plenty of promise on his three outings in the autumn and his third to Titus in a Leopardstown maiden in Otctober was a decent effort. Tocco D’Amore is a superbly bred daughter of Raven’s Pass from a great dynasty that has produced the likes of Salsabil, Marju and a host of other quality runners. She is a newcomer of note.

Selection: DIODORUS
